Protect our water for food

The people of Northern Victoria are worried the Federal Government seeks to remove what will soon amount to 25% of the current water used to grow your food. That equates to a further 750 gigalitres reduction in water for food or one and half Sydney harbours of water.

Less water means less food, more food imports and higher grocery prices.

In many countries groceries costs have almost tripled.

Over 2100 gigalitres of water or over 4 Sydney Harbours has been removed from food production and returned to the environmental flows, however considered science suggests that parts of the Murray River have reached its ecological limits on just how much water can be delivered further downstream.

A healthy environment creates healthy outcomes and healthy foods for all animals, including humans, therefore water management is paramount as all food begins with water.

There is a healthy balance for a healthy environment and healthy people eating clean Australian produce.
