The reality is that people are part of the environment. It’s people who protect the environment and all animals including humans need food. No other equation delivers sustainability to all.

 

Across Northern Victoria, Food and Fibre Production employs over 21,000 people directly on farms;

 

A further 12,000 people are employed in food processing and manufacturing and a further 4000 people are employed in related machinery, wholesaling, maintenance and support services relating to food production.

 

These jobs are dependent on having enough water to produce food, a reduction in water will see a reduction in jobs.
